How to Install a Hidden Kill Switch in your Car or Truck (Cheap Anti Theft System)
Instead of installing an expensive car alarm system or using ineffective methods to prevent your car from getting stolen, learn how to install an inexpensive, hidden kill switch. simplisafe.com/dreamcar
This kill switch is easy to install and anyone can do it at home with basic tools. It can also work along with your car's current alarm system. How it works is it cuts the power to the fuel pump so you cannot jump start the car, hot wire it, or even push start it. In order to steal the car you need to tow it! It is better than a batter quick disconnect because your computer wont restart and you wont lose your radio stations.

Chris you should make a video where you add the anti theft system to a car and leave the key inside it and doors unlocked to see if someone would try and steal it. Also have a cop there Incase someone does try and steal it, the cop would bust em right there.

How do you "pump the gas" with a fuel injected motor? Seriously though, an electronic timer that will keep the gas pressurized for 1 minute or less would really put a would be thief in a spot, about 20-30 feet away from the parking spot. Awkward ... A float bowl full of gas would do that in ancient times.

have an alarm system in my car (no joke) that will spit out cyanide into the cab if you do not punch in the code after the door is opened. I take the risk by anyone else: well, you're dead. And there are MORE and MORE people starting to do this. I don't care if it kills someone. You die from it, you'll one less criminal off the theft-market. And thieves won't know people are doing this until it's too late and won't be able to do anything.

Great video! I have a classic 65 Mustang and believe that the fuel pump is mechanical...not electrical. Any kill switch ideas other than fuel pump?
Tallen Motorsport5 päivää sitten
Don't crimp near fuse box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can bypass very easily! Find an area that requires more effort to get to. I try to find the wiring near a seat and tap there. ;) Other than that, great job!

MSL 07276 päivää sitten
Unfortunately they won't need to find your switch. They can just find your tap, but of the new connections and twist back the original wires.
MSL 07276 päivää sitten
They'll burnout your starter and battery trying to get it started. Should have killed power to the ignition system all together.
David Pratt7 päivää sitten
What happens if you flip the kill switch off while you're driving?
zero8kira7 päivää sitten
What happens if you turn the killswitch on while driving? Will it kill the car?
Javory Hull6 päivää sitten
Yeah. The car will stall when you activate the kill switch while you're driving
M F7 päivää sitten
Great video. One thing I would do different is use a black wire instead of blue so it's not easily found just by looking.
Facts First7 päivää sitten
Bro your wiring skills are horrible. A couple of those wire ends the conductors were bent back and you didn't even get them into the crimp. On another one, your strip was longer than the splice so you had bare wire hanging out. Unacceptable.
Matt Guild7 päivää sitten
Hey Chris just loved this video... very cool. I have a 1966 beetle which i'm keen to add a kill switch to, where would you connect this too in an old beetle. cheers in advance

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram with manual 5 speed trans....the way I did mine is splice a push button kill switch inline with the crank sensor on the engine, hidden somewhere you would never look. They could crank the engine for days and will never turn over.

Johnathan Walsh9 päivää sitten
Anyone doing this should wire the switch to the ecu harness instead. They can wire around this if the criminal is smart enough
Jacques B9 päivää sitten
it's even easier if the petrol/gas pump is electric. you then install a momentary push switch and a relay. you start the car and push switch pump works. if you get hijacked you just switch off car and hand over keys.criminals drive off and like half a mile car cuts out and stalls.

A+ Nothin' but a superior install and explanation!
Thomas C10 päivää sitten
Just installed something fluke this. Check engine comes on if I try to start it with the switch off. And then stays on if I switch it back to on and drive the vehicle. Response? Is this normal?
Paul Walker10 päivää sitten
It would also be a good idea to use a switch that will not wear through the shifter boot, a button to press rather than a switch maybe, but the spot great, one problem though, this guy just told everyone where it is.
Tony H11 päivää sitten
That S2000 was beautifully clean ✌️
Freddo Flintstono11 päivää sitten
I used the idea, but I added a relay that was hooked up the the reverse lights. It means that when I power up the car I have to briefly put it in reverse for this to trigger. As I always park for driving away, this would be counter-intuitive for a thief.
